Pipeliner is NOT a CRM product. Pipeliner is an "Opportunity Management System".

Here are some objections to CRM systems from sales people

  • It takes too long to fill in, I can’t see the value
  • I don’t want to share my information
  • It’s never updated
  • It’s full of rubbish (I know, because I put it in! haha)
  • The managers just make up the numbers anyway!

 

So this is the way that we have approached Opportunity Management

  • Minimum data entry need (4 fields) to create an opportunity
  • No need to share the information
  • Data will be real, because it is related to the sales cycle, and there is no value for the sales person of having "dead" information in the system
  • If the sales person wants to add lots of information, the quality will be high, often because they wish to send this information to their customer.
  • Reporting is done according to clear principles, which are easy to understand for the organisation
