Definition and Function of Standard Entities
What does the word “entities” mean in Pipeliner, and why are these called Entities? “Entities” is the term used in Pipeliner to refer to different CRM functions.
The functions known as Standard Entities are defaults in Pipeliner. These are:

- AccountAccount Account refers to a record of primary and background information about an individual or corporate customer, including contact data, preferred services, and transactions with your company.
- ProductProduct Product refers to anything (an idea, item, service, process or information) that meets a need or a desire and is offered to a market, usually but not always at a price.

- LeadLead Lead refers to a prospect or potential customer (who can be an individual or organization) that exhibits interest in your service or product; or any additional information about such entity.

For each Entity, data is organized in customizable fields. In addition, Pipeliner CRM offers multiple forms for each Entity, making for endless possibilities within the same Entity.

A company can create a Custom Entity to fit their particular needs.
Let’s take a business context example. Let us say that a manufacturing company, in addition to the Standard Entities provided as defaults, also has a regular requirement to order special raw materials for particular clients in the manufacture of their goods. The company needs to keep track of these specific raw materials as they’re not part of its normal inventory—they’re only used for one particular clientClient A client is an entity who pays another entity for products purchased or services rendered.
